HIGHLAND — One person was killed in a car accident on state Route 92 on Sunday afternoon.
A teenager driving a white Ford Focus collided with a black Chevy with two occupants at 4:30 p.m. The accident occurred near Highland on state Route 92 and approximately 6500 West, according to Lone Peak Police Sgt. Brett Wagstaff.
The teen driver of the Ford was killed in the crash, Wagstaff said, while the passenger of the Chevy was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
Lone Peak police and fire along with Lehi police and fire departments responded to the crash.
State Route 92 was temporarily closed but is reopened as of 9:30 p.m.
The cause of the crash is under investigation. The victim's identities have not yet been released.
