SOUTH SALT LAKE — A woman was arrested Saturday after she told police she shot her husband the night before.

Emily Fisher, 46, was arrested on suspicion of murder and discharge of a firearm by a restricted person.

South Salt Lake police spokesperson Danielle Croyle said the woman called authorities about 11:51 p.m. Friday, claiming she'd shot the man and may have killed him.

Police responded to 583 W. Billinis Road and found a 66-year-old man deceased outside with multiple gunshot wounds. They recovered a handgun at the scene.

Fisher and one male witness were questioned Saturday morning by detectives while police processed the scene. Just after 11 a.m., South Salt Lake police announced they had arrested Fisher in connection with the man's killing.
