(KSL News) A Trax train rear-ended a passenger car this evening on Salt Lake's east bench.

The car was westbound on 5th South, waiting to turn south on 11th East. It was in a legal turning lane, which is shared with the trains.

Witnesses say the train operator apparently didn't see the car until seconds before it hit.

Alisa Watson, Witness: "The train just came by full bore, was honking, ringing the bell, but hit her going full speed."

The woman was not seriously hurt but complained of neck pain.

Salt Lake and Trax police are investigating to find out just who was in the wrong.
