PROVO — Police have identified a driver who died after his car was hit while pulling out of a restaurant parking lot near 400 North and 900 East in Provo on Tuesday, officials said.

Around 4 p.m. a car was pulling out of a Taco Bell parking lot when another vehicle hit it, according to Provo Police Sgt. Nisha King. The car was T-boned by the other vehicle, killing the driver.

King said that the driver who was killed was attending school in Provo. He was identified Wednesday as Joseph Spencer, 22, police said in a tweet.

The crash is being investigated, but officials say it's too early to determine if speed or alcohol was a factor. Further information about the crash was not released.
