PROVO — A Provo man was arrested Monday after police say he refused to wear a mask inside a store and then refused to leave.

The man was at the bank counter inside a Smith's store in Provo when the bank manager asked him to wear a mask. The man refused and started arguing with the bank manager and then "started talking to customers, questioning them as to why they were wearing masks," according to a police affidavit.

The bank manager said the man was "causing a scene," was asked five times to leave and continued to argue with customers, according to the affidavit. Police were called to remove the man from the store.

Elijah Brandt Webb, 37, was booked into the Utah County Jail for investigation of commercial obstruction and trespassing.
