NEPHI — The Juab County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a 50-year-old Santaquin man.
The body of Michael Caussey was found shot and "subsequently discarded" Friday in the west Juab County Desert along the Brush Wellman Highway by search and rescue crews, according to a statement from the sheriff's office.
Two men were arrested in connection with Caussey's death.
Troy Pexton, 56, was first detained, then arrested by police under suspicion of murder, obstruction of justice, and abuse or desecration of a dead human body.
Scott Blackett, 41, was treated at a local hospital for unspecified injuries. He returned to Nephi where he was also detained, then arrested under suspicion of abuse or desecration of a dead human body.
The investigation is ongoing.
