More Utah schools pivot to online learning as coronavirus cases increase

SALT LAKE CITY — Clearfield High School and Farmington Junior High School, along with several schools in the Jordan School District will be transitioning to online learning due to a high number of COVID-19 cases.

Davis School District announced on Thursday that Clearfield High School and Farmington Junior High School will be closed on Friday, and remote learning will begin on Nov. 23. In-person learning is expected to resume on Dec. 7.

Jordan School District met on Wednesday evening and decided to transition some schools to remote learning from Nov. 23 to Dec.7. The affected schools are Joel P. Jensen Middle School, Oquirrh Hills Middle School, Butterfield Canyon Elementary School and Foothills Elementary School.

Students at Westvale Elementary are scheduled to attend school on their regular schedule Thursday and Friday, transition to remote learning on Nov. 24 and Nov. 25, then return to in-person learning on Nov. 30 after Thanksgiving Break.
