Farm fire in Nephi burns $150K worth of hay

A fire sparked in a field just west of I-15 in Nephi on Wednesday morning, authorities said.The fire sparked on a farm and burned through about $150,000 worth of hay.No structures were burned and no injuries were reported.

The fire was still burning Wednesday afternoon and officials expected it would burn for another few days.Fire crews will watch the blaze overnight, authorities said.The cause is under investigation and authorities said it doesn’t appear suspicious.

Neffs Canyon Fire 100% contained, trail closures lifted

New fire begins near Kanab

A new wildfire is burning east of Kanab, state and federal fire officials announced Wednesday afternoon.The Kaibab Gulch Fire is burning near U.S. Highway 89 about 30 miles from Kanab in Kane County, fire officials said. They estimate the fire at about 70 acres as of 12:05 p.m.Firefighting resources are at the scene. No other information about the cause or structures threatened was immediately provided.

#Utah #wildfire new start located ~ 31 miles east of Kanab, at Mile Marker 30, State Road 89. The #KaibabGulchFire is estimated to be ~ 70 acres. Resources are on scene. More information to follow as it becomes available.
