LEHI — A long haul truck driver was arrested Wednesday after police say he tried to entice an undercover officer posing as a 13-year-old girl to travel across the country with him so he could rape her.

Curtis Wayne England, 41, of Mesa, Colorado, was booked into the Utah County Jail for investigation of attempted child kidnapping, attempted rape of a child, attempted sodomy on a child, obstructing justice and enticing a minor.

England began chatting online Wednesday with an undercover police officer posing as a 13-year-old girl, according to a police booking affidavit.

“As they continue to chat, Curtis tells her that he drives semi trucks and will be heading to Las Vegas the next day and then to Texas,” the affidavit states. “Curtis tells her that she can come with him to Vegas and then Texas but he only has one bed and mentions that she can sleep with him in the bed.”

England then becomes more domineering and sexually explicit in his texts, telling the “girl” that “she has to do what she is told or he will spank her” and that “he is going to ‘make you a woman,’” according to the affidavit.

England arranged a time to pick up the “girl” and told her that she should tell people she is his daughter, the affidavit says.

“Curtis also came up with a new name she will be called to other people. He said that he didn’t want anyone to see her get in the truck and to stay in contact with him until he got there,” police wrote.

Once at the designated meeting place, officers surrounded his semitrailer and arrested him.

Also in the truck, police found “a female who admitted to prostituting herself so he would take her out of Washington because she had a full extradition warrant out for her arrest. She was found to have been told it was his daughter he was going to see,” the affidavit states.
