SALT LAKE CITY — One man suffered critical injuries Thursday after his car crashed into a tree for an unknown reason, police said.

The man was transported to a hospital in critical condition after the single-vehicle crash at 300 W. Wall Street, Salt Lake police detective Michael Ruff said.

The driver was blue when he was pulled from the car, Ruff said.

It’s possible the man suffered a medical incident before the car crashed, but police don’t yet know the exact cause of the crash, Ruff said.

The incident is under investigation.
