Sundown Fire grows to 450 acres, 25% contained; structures no longer threatened

The Sundown Fire, which began Tuesday night in Box Elder County, had grown to 450 acres by 10 p.m. and was 25% contained. The human-caused fire previously threatened some structures but by 10 p.m., the structures were no longer threatened. The fire's exact cause is under investigation.

Cowboy Fire forces closures at Fish Lake National Forest

The Cowboy Fire, which had burned 250 acres near Salina in Sevier County, forced closures in Fish Lake National Forest and the Manti-La Sal National Forest on Tuesday, fire officials reported.

Cougar Fire near Cedar City 15% contained

The Cougar Fire which had burned 476 acres near Cedar City was 15% contained as of Tuesday afternoon, fire officials said.Two helicopters were being used to fight the blaze and 150 personnel were assigned to the fire Tuesday.The fire displayed creeping and torching behavior due to hotter conditions Tuesday.

250-acre Sundown Fire threatens structures in Box Elder County

Firefighters responded to a new wildfire Tuesday afternoon that threatened several structures in Box Elder County near Hansel Valley, state and local fire officials reported through Utah Fire Info.The human-caused fire is under investigation and was reported to be about 250 acres as of Tuesday at 4:15 p.m.

Crews continue gaining containment on Cowboy Fire

Crews will continue establishing containment Tuesday on the Cowboy Fire, burning near Salina in Sevier County.The fire has been measured at 250 acres as of Tuesday, state and federal fire officials reported through Utah Fire Info.

Cougar Fire near Cedar City remains at 476 acres, 0% contained

Firefighters worked Monday to contain the Cougar Fire, which had burned 476 acres near Cedar City. As of Monday evening, no significant growth had occurred but the fire remained 0% contained.

#CougarFire Firefighters are working to achieve some containment today. Single Engine Air Tankers are being used to support ground crews and keep the fire from advancing further. No significant growth has occurred as of 5pm. Remains at 476 acres, 0% contained. #CCDNH

Battle Creek Fire near Pleasant Grove 50% contained

The Battle Creek Fire, which began burning Sunday above Pleasant Grove, had been 50% contained as of Monday night, fire officials reported through Utah Fire Info.Fire officials asked the public Monday to be mindful of hot, dry conditions across the state and do their part in preventing more wildfires from starting.
