MORGAN — A wrong-way driver died Sunday evening after she crashed into a semitruck on I-84, authorities said.
The crash took place about 11:23 p.m. near Morgan, according to a news release from the Utah Department of Public Safety. Troopers responded to the area after receiving calls of a wrong-way driver.
The woman was driving a Ford Crown Victoria westbound in the eastbound lanes, the release said. About 11:23 p.m., she crashed head-on into a semitruck that was hauling onions, according to the release.
Emergency personnel attempted life-saving measures at the scene, but the woman was pronounced dead when she arrived at a hospital, the release said.
She was identified Wednesday as 59-year-old Jacqueline Jacobs of Magna, according to the release. She was the only occupant of the Ford.
