Update: Police identified the individual who was shot on Monday as 17-year-old Edwin B. Reyes.


WEST VALLEY CITY — Police are investigating after someone was shot and killed Sunday in West Valley City.

Officers were called to Peachwood Park, 3525 W. 3965 South, on the report of a male who had been shot, West Valley police said in a statement.

Officers did not know his age. His identity was not immediately released.

“We are in the process of gathering evidence and canvassing for witnesses. No suspect description, nor motive at this time. Investigation is underway,” police said.

No other information was available Sunday night.
