SALT LAKE CITY — One man is dead after an officer-involved shooting occurred overnight in Salt Lake City.
The incident began when officers responded to a call about threats with a gun near 900 South and 300 West around 2 a.m., according to Salt Lake Police Sgt. Keith Horrocks.
Officers made contact with one involved man and he fled the scene, Horrocks said; a short distance later, "officers confronted the suspect and shots were fired."
A Hispanic male is deceased, Horrocks said. A second person may have been involved and is at large, but Horrocks said he does not believe there is a threat to the public.
The Unified Police Department is handling the investigation, Horrocks said. He said all officers involved are OK.
