SALT LAKE CITY — Two men already charged in connection with a fatal shooting now face additional charges for allegedly stealing a safe that contained the guns used in the killing, according to prosecutors.
Ryan Joseph Dash, 32, of Ogden, and Brian Christopher Jenson, 28, of Brigham City, were charged Tuesday in 2nd District Court with four counts of theft, all first-degree felonies due to gang enhancements.
Both men are also accused in the shooting death of Dalton Wood, 29, of Harrisville, in February.
Dash was charged with aggravated murder, a first-degree felony, and possession of a firearm by a restricted person, a second-degree felony.
Jenson was charged with murder, a first-degree felony; obstructing justice, a second-degree felony; and possession of a firearm by a restricted person, a third-degree felony.
Four days before the shooting — and a little over three weeks after Dash was released from the Utah State Prison on parole — a group of men stole a safe from a woman staying at a West Haven care center, according to charging documents filed Tuesday.

A man previously convicted of stabbing his cellmate numerous times and who was released from the Utah State Prison just three weeks ago may soon be headed back after being charged with murdering a man.After being arrested in connection with the shooting, Dash told police he also assisted in stealing the safe, the charges state.
“After the safe was transported to another residence, Ryan stated that he was present when the safe was cut open and the items inside were removed. Ryan stated that the safe contained three guns along with other miscellaneous property,” according to the charges. “Two of the guns that were used in the homicide were later discovered to be the same guns located within the safe when it was taken.”
After breaking into the safe, Dash said he helped with “dumping the safe off of a bridge in Brigham City,” the charges state.
A preliminary hearing in the murder case is scheduled for June 12.
