SALT LAKE CITY — Police arrested a West Jordan man who investigators say was both searching for child pornography and creating his own by taking pictures of a young child.
Gorge Angel Solorsano, 24, was charged Wednesday in 3rd District Court with aggravated sexual abuse of a child, a first-degree felony; 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, a second-degree felony; and voyeurism, a class A misdemeanor. Prosecutors have requested he be held on no bail. He was arrested Monday by the Utah Attorney General Office’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
The investigation began Jan. 30 when task force investigators received a tip that child pornography had been uploaded to a Twitter account, according to charging documents. After tracing the account to a home in West Jordan, a search warrant was served on Monday.
In reviewing other files on Solorsano’s Twitter account, investigators found images of child pornography that Solorsano is believed to have taken himself, according to charging documents.
“Internet searches for ‘preteen’ and ‘jailbait’ were also found” on Solorsano’s phone, the charges state.
More than “270 files of child pornography (were) found on the social media account belonging to Solorsano,” according to a police affidavit, including eight pictures that he appeared to take.
