HEBER — A 34-year-old man is missing near Strawberry River, Wasatch County sheriff’s officials said on Friday.

Robert “Austin” Harker, of Millcreek, has not been seen or heard from since Thursday at 11 a.m., authorities say.

Harker was going fly fishing near Strawberry River and was expected to return home on Thursday afternoon, which he did not.

Harker called his wife on Thursday after he left to tell her Solider Creek Dam Road, the route he intended to use, was closed and he would be going farther east to fish.

Earlier on Friday, search and rescue teams asked the public’s help in locating Harker’s truck. By 11:20 p.m., the truck had been found thanks to tips, authorities reported. However, Harker was still missing as of Friday night.

Harker is 6-foot-3 and weighs about 210 pounds. The Utah Department of Public Safety helicopter was deployed Friday afternoon to search for Harker.

Anyone who has seen Harker is asked to call the Wasatch County 911 Center at 435-654-1411.
