SALT LAKE CITY — Democratic presidential candidate Mike Bloomberg's Salt Lake City campaign headquarters was vandalized overnight, his campaign and police confirmed Saturday morning.
Catherine Sant Marr, Bloomberg's Utah communications director, said roughly 50 rocks were thrown through the front window of the headquarters, located at 243 E. 400 South, likely between 4:30 and 7 a.m.
Salt Lake police confirmed that rocks were thrown through the window and said it has no suspect information at this time.
"We are disheartened by the vandalism at our Salt Lake City headquarters," said Bloomberg's Utah state director Lauren Littlefield in a statement. "We know that emotions can run high in politics but we also know that even when we disagree, Utahns find common ground in civil discourse. We strongly condemn this act of vandalism but we are laser focused on Super Tuesday and will continue to share Mike’s message about unifying our country with Utah voters.”
Sant Marr said volunteers are continuing to use the space for phone banking today despite the vandalism.
