OGDEN — A three-vehicle crash on 12th Street sent four to the hospital Friday afternoon, including one driver with serious head trauma, Utah Highway Patrol troopers said.
About 1:42 p.m., a gold Toyota Avalon was westbound on 12th Street when it struck a black Cadillac ATS at the road’s intersection with the I-15 southbound off-ramp. The cars hit head-on at a slight angle, troopers said.
The Cadillac was traveling from the I-15 southbound off-ramp to make a left turn onto eastbound 12th Street when the collision occurred, troopers said.
After hitting the Cadillac, the Avalon veered left into eastbound lanes and hit a copper Honda Fit that was at a stoplight. The Avalon then drove into a power pole, troopers said.
The Fit’s driver suffered serious head trauma and was in and out of consciousness while being transported to a hospital, according to UHP. All other individuals involved in the crash were transported to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
UHP is investigating the incident, including what the traffic signal at the 12th Street intersection displayed before the Avalon hit the Cadillac.
