OGDEN — Police have identified a man who died after a shooting in Ogden on Thursday night.

Isaac Ignacio Gonzalez, 21, of North Ogden, died in the shooting, Ogden Police Lt. Michael Boone said Friday.

The shooting took place about 9:30 p.m. near the 200 block of Porter Avenue, Boone said. Gonzalez suffered critical injuries and was transported to McKay-Dee Hospital, where he later died. Gonzalez was shot in the chest, police said.

Shortly after Gonzalez was taken to the hospital, another person showed up there with a gunshot wound that was not life-threatening, Boone said. Police determined that person's injury was related to the shooting that killed Gonzalez. Boone did not identify the second shooting victim.

Police spoke with the second victim and obtained information that helped them locate Caleb Skipps, 19. Investigators interviewed Skipps, who is from Pleasant View, and he was booked into the Weber County Jail for investigation of homicide in connection with Gonzalez's death, Boone said.

Investigators believe the shooting is drug-related in some capacity, Boone said. He did not have any information about what led up to the incident.

Police were not looking for any other people in connection to the case Friday, but the investigation was ongoing, Boone said. Police were not asking for any help from the public, either.
