SALT LAKE CITY — One man was killed Wednesday morning after being ejected during a rollover crash, Utah Highway Patrol confirmed.

About 9:11 a.m., two men were eastbound on I-70 in a white Chevrolet Malibu with Utah license plates. The car was about 7 miles from the Colorado-Utah state line when it veered off the road to the right and then overcorrected, troopers said.

The vehicle rolled multiple times after sliding sideways down an embankment, according to UHP. The car came to rest on its top after rolling.

One man, later identified as Delvin W. Staley, 30, of Logan, was ejected and died on scene. The other man was transported to a hospital in Colorado with minor injuries, according to UHP.

Investigators suspect speed and alcohol were factors in the crash, UHP said.
