FLAMING GORGE RESERVOIR, Daggett County — A man died on Friday evening after the UTV he was riding in crashed and rolled into Flaming Gorge Reservoir, officials said.
The crash, involving a Polaris RZR 4 UTV, took place on Daggett County Road 17 early Friday evening, according to an emailed statement from Daggett County Sheriff E.L. Bailey.
Three men were involved in the crash. One passenger was trapped in the UTV, and emergency personnel tried to extricate him for over half an hour, Bailey said.
He was pronounced dead at the scene after crews extricated him, according to Bailey.
The other two men, the driver and a passenger of the UTV, were transported by medical helicopter to hospitals in Ogden and Salt Lake City, Bailey said. He did not provide the condition of the two men.
The names and ages of the men involved in the crash were not immediately released on Saturday.
