(KSL News) A man went into a Salt Lake City gas station near 900 East and 100 South and walked out with the cash register.

The clerk told police he recognized the man as someone who had robbed the store before. But before he had time to do anything, the man punched the clerk in the face and grabbed the register.

The register was heavy, so the thief didn't get very far before he dropped it, but he grabbed as much money as he could.

Police are still looking for the robber.
