SALT LAKE CITY — A federal judge postponed a hearing Tuesday for an FLDS Church leader accused of violating the conditions of his release from jail pending trial.

Seth Jeffs is now scheduled to appear in U.S. District Court on Aug. 22 along with John Wayman, who also allegedly broke his pretrial release agreement. The judge rescheduled his hearing Monday.

Jeffs and Wayman are among 11 FLDS Church members charged in February with misusing food stamps and diverting the money to front companies and buy equipment. They have pleaded not guilty.

The two men allegedly met four times last month in violation of a court order that bars them from contacting other defendants or potential witnesses in the case.
