SALT LAKE CITY — KSL is back on DirecTV.

KSL-TV executives announced Saturday evening they had reached a broadcast agreement with DirecTV, ending a near 3-week-long blackout of KSL channels 5 and 5.1 on the satellite service.

Details of the agreement were not available Saturday, but KSL general manager Tanya Vea issued a statement saying DirecTV "agreed to fairly compensate KSL for its valuable content."

"Thank you to our viewers for your patience," Vea added.

KSL-TV first went off of DirecTV on Aug. 21 when the station chose not to give another extension to the satellite company. Vea said the old contract ran out at the end of June, but the station granted three extensions.

During the blackout, an estimated 200,000 DirecTV subscribers in the state had to find alternate ways to watch their favorite NBC shows.
