Randall Jeppesen reportingA man could end up partially paralyzed after one of his friends stabbed him in the neck.

Four people were driving away from the Springville carnival over the weekend when some sort of argument occurred. A man in the backseat pulled out a knife and started stabbing his friend, who was sitting the front passenger seat, in the back of the neck.

"[He] stabbed him several times," said Springville police Lt. Dave Caron. "Our understanding is that there is some nerve damage. At this point, we don't know if he'll recover from that or not."

Caron says the suspect jumped out of the car and took off running.

"When they located him, he was completely uncooperative. He's been booked into the county jail on aggravated assault and attempted murder charges," Caron said.

Caron says the victim has been undergoing physical therapy at the hospital to try and get some more movement back.
