SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- "American Idol" runner-up David Archuleta has a job lined up once he's finished with the summer Idol tour.

Archuleta, 17, has signed a deal with 19 Recordings/Jive Records. The label posted a release on its Web site Tuesday.

The Murray teenager calls getting a record deal a dream and says he looks forward to working on his debut album.

David Cook, 25, a former bartender from Blue Springs, Mo., won the title "American Idol" last month. The popular show appears on the Fox television network.
