NEW YORK (AP) — Marriott is welcoming cord cutters, making Netflix available to guests in its hotel rooms.

Guests can use their own accounts to sign in to the streaming service right now at six hotels, and that will double by the end of the summer.

Marriott plans to expand the service to 100 hotels by the end of 2015, and to nearly all of its more than 300 U.S. locations by the end of next year, the company said Wednesday.

Non-subscribers can sign up for an account through Marriott International Inc. during their stay at the same price offered by Netflix, which starts at $7.99 per month.

Marriott says it is the first hotel to provide guests direct access to Netflix.

Shares of Netflix Inc. hit a new high Wednesday after company shareholders cleared the way for a stock split.
