Arkansas athletic director picks up national honor

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) — A sports publication has named University of Arkansas' Jeff Long the athletic director of the year.

Long was honored Wednesday night in New York City as the 2015 SportsBusiness Journal and SportsBusiness Daily Athletic Director of the Year.

Long has served eight years as vice chancellor and director of athletics. Arkansas has captured two national championships, 24 conference championships and advanced to 106 post-season competitions during his tenure.

Other finalists for the award included Kentucky's Mitch Barnhart, Baylor's Ian McCaw and Clemson's Dan Radakovich.
