(KSL News) Utah Rep. Jim Matheson says he is backing Sen. Barack Obama's bid for the White House.
Up until today, Matheson had refused to reveal who he would support at the Democratic National Convention in August. But now that Barack Obama is the Democrat's presumptive presidential nominee, he said he will support him.
Matheson is one of six superdelegates for the state that will attend the Democratic National Convention.
The Deseret News reports five of Utah's six superdelegates are now backing Obama. Helen Langa, the party's national committeewoman for Utah, had said she was not ready to make the switch to Obama.
