(KSL News) -- Buy local first! That's the message of Utah merchants.
Today, members of Buy Local First Utah gathered to announce "Independence Week", a chance for shoppers to turn from big chain retailers and try some of the smaller home grown shops.
Besty Burton, Chair, Buy Local First: "Locally owned, independent businesses add texture and richness to neighborhoods, the Main streets and the downtowns of our communities, making them unique, one-of-a-kind places rather than the interchangeable anywhere USA city-scapes."
