CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Nevada Assembly members are vetting a bill changing overtime calculations for some workers. The bill repeals a rule that employers must pay overtime after 8 hours of work in a day, and requires overtime once a worker clocks more than 40 hours in a week. Democrats in the Senate voted against the bill and said the overtime changes would hurt all workers.

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — A Clark County grand jury has indicted a former Democratic Nevada Assembly candidate on a charge of lying on a residency form. Attorney General Adam Laxalt says 36-year-old Las Vegas resident Meghan Smith was indicted on a count of felony perjury. She's scheduled for an arraignment on May 14. Attempts by The Associated Press to reach Smith by phone and email were unsuccessful.

ELY, Nev. (AP) — Nevada's prison director says several Ely State Prison inmates suffered minor injuries after officers fired shots in the direction of fighting prisoners. The Nevada Department of Corrections Director says the agency's inspector general will investigate the incident. He says four inmates attacked another on Tuesday evening.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — A dispute over tickets to the Floyd Mayweather Jr.-Manny Pacquiao fight was settled yesterday, clearing the way for a limited number of seats to be sold to the public. The battle held up the sale of about 500 tickets to the general public and the release of thousands of others to ticket brokers and others. There was no word from the MGM on when the tickets would be put on sale.
