SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A Salt Lake City doctor convicted of murder in his ex-wife's death says he plans to appeal. The defense attorney for John Brickman Wall says he will appeal the guilty verdict handed down by a jury after a monthlong trial. Prosecutors say Wall attacked Uta von Schwedler with a knife, dosed her with an anti-anxiety drug Xanax and drowned her in her bathtub in 2011.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A married same-sex couple from West Jordan says in a new lawsuit that state officials unfairly rejected their request to make both women legal parents on their child's birth certificate. Angie and Kami Roe's lawsuit says hospital staff refused to take their birth certificate paperwork in February, and Utah officials said one mother must adopt the baby as a step-parent.

DUCHESNE COUNTY, Utah (AP) — A missing Lehi couple has been found dead in an apparent murder-suicide. The Daily Herald in Provo reports that Milinda Wright and Gordon Wright were reported missing Friday night by the woman's father. Duchesne County Sheriff's officials say investigators believe Gordon Wright shot his wife and then turned the gun on himself.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Rudy Gobert had 20 points, 17 rebounds and three blocks to help the Utah Jazz beat the Dallas Mavericks 109-92 last night in the final game of the season in Salt Lake City. Both teams were extremely short-handed with the coaches deciding to sit several stars.
