(KSL News) It may come as no surprise to many of you, especially you allergy sufferers, but Salt Lake City ranks right near the top in the worst American cities for dry eyes.
Salt Lake is actually number seven, based on rankings compiled by the National Women's Health Resource Center.
Factors included temperature, humidity, wind, altitude, pollutants and ocular allergens. The hot and smog-filled summer months are especially aggravating.
Worst American Cities for Dry Eyes
1. Las Vegas
2. Lubbock, Texas
3. El Paso, Texas
4. Odessa- Midland, Texas
5. Dallas- Ft. Worth, Texas
6. Atlanta
7. Salt Lake City
8. Phoenix
9. Amarillo, Texas
10. Honolulu
Not surprisingly Las Vegas is number one, followed by four Texas cities. Atlanta, Salt Lake, Phoenix and Honolulu help round out the top 10.
