Ashley Hayes Reporting You've probably seen the celebrities in magazines wearing big smiles topped off with milk mustaches. Today the "Got Milk" tour is rolling into Salt Lake City.
No milk mustaches yet, but if you stick around long enough they'll be taking milk mustache pictures later this morning.
A 40 foot long truck is traveling across the country as part of the setup for the promotion. The goal is to sign up women for the "Great American Weight Loss Challenge." That challenge incorporates milk into part of a healthy diet.
A recent study finds women who drink 24 ounces of millk a day paired with moderate exercise lose more weight than women who don't drink milk. Three women in Salt Lake City have tried it out and among them have lost 30 pounds.
Hallee Weice started her dairy diet in February and says in four months she's lost twelve pounds.
Hallee Weice, Lost Weight on milk diet: "I would say milk does a body good, absolutely. I mean, I feel like I've achieved half my weight goal and I'm going to continue doing exactly what I'm doing, so that I can become the skinny woman I deserve to be."
Ron Claassen owns the Curves gym where Weice works out and says the diet is healthy and catching on.
Ron Claassen, Owns Curves: "Everyone has had great results with it. The info that's out is it's targeting belly fat. Every single one of them says they're gettig great results with the belly fat."
If you are interested in finding out more about the diet, the big truck will be set up at the Gallivan Center from 11-2 this afternoon. Dieticians will give free health assessments. And you can get that milk mustache picture to put on your fridge.
