SALT LAKE CITY — Democrats in the Utah Senate made slight changes to their leadership team for 2015.

Sen. Gene Davis, D-Salt Lake City, will continue to serve as minority leader, while Sen. Karen Mayne, D-West Valley City, retained her position as minority whip.

Sen. Luz Robles, D-Salt Lake City, was elected as the new assistant minority whip. Sen. Jim Dabakis, D-Salt Lake City, becomes the minority caucus manager.

Only five of the state's 29 senators are Democrats. Senator-elect Jani Iwamota, D-Holladay, will take office in January.
