SARATOGA SPRINGS — Attorneys have released surveillance video of the final moments before Saratoga Springs police officers shot and killed Darrien Hunt.

Hunt's family attorney says it proves Hunt wasn't a threat.

Hunt is seen walking in front of a security camera on Sept. 10 with a samurai sword in his left hand behind him. Inside a nearby gas station, witnesses watched the encounter.

At one point, a woman is heard talking about a man carrying a sword and that police had arrived.

At another point, officers are seen walking in the direction Hunt was headed. Police say shortly after that, officers approached Hunt, he lunged at them, and they shot him.

The shooting was ruled justified.

The Hunt family has said they plan to file a lawsuit against the Saratoga Springs Police Department. The department has not yet commented on the surveillance video.
