(KSL News) -- Ogden officials deny allegations they offered to hire more firefighters in exchange for support for the gondola project from the firefighters union.
Leadership of the union said they turned down the offer, although more firefighters and higher firefighter salaries are needed.
Mayor Matthew Godfrey said the claim was untrue and that union officials were just trying to get more leverage during salary negotiations.
The proposed gondola project would connect downtown to Weber State University.
