ATLANTA (AP) — Technical College System of Georgia officials have formed a search committee to help find a new president for Gwinnett Technical College.
Sharon Bartels' retirement from the post took effect Thursday and David H. Welden has been named interim president of the school in Lawrenceville.
Officials say three candidates the committee chooses as finalists will be interviewed by the system's senior management in Atlanta before a final interview with Commissioner Ron Jackson.
Jackson will select a president, who will then need to be approved by the 22 members of the board that governs the Technical College System of Georgia.
