PROVO — The latest Spiderman movie hits theaters on Friday, but some Utah filmmakers created a Spiderman clip of their own.

Their video,"The Amazing Spider-Man Parkour," received about 375,000 in 24 hours on YouTube.

Ronnie Shalvis makes the freerunning stunts — or it's French name, parkour — look easy. Now “Peter Parkour” has come to life. And the scenes will look famliar to Provo and Salt Lake residents.

"The idea is to capture what would Spiderman look like if he did parkour,” Shalvis said. “I have to think creatively, 'How can I look like Spiderman in the costume doing parkour?' And to me that's a form of art.”

In the three minute video, Shalvis climbs up walls and jumps between roofs, and it's all caught on camera with the help of Utah filmmaker Cameron Manwaring and Sky Candy drones.

"We had this real awesome setup. While I am on the roof, he is actually flying this quadcopter around me with the camera, and that is where you see those real cool epic shots,” Shalvis said.

The video was shot just two weeks ago over four days with the permission of Sony Pictures.

“We did get them on board to support us and to help us promote the movie and let us use their official costume.”

Shalvis said the costume made him feel like a celebrity.

"There's a lot of people around who get really excited about it and point out, 'Oh, its Spiderman!' and I'd come down and they would want to get pictures with me” he said.

A behind the scenes video shows everything didn't always go according to plan. But Shalvis hopes his moves on YouTube will catch the attention of Hollywood.

“I'm really hoping Sony will see this video I have done and see the way I move like Spiderman doing parkour and these different stunts, and it will open up opportunities whether it is for Spiderman movies or other superhero movies," Shalvis said.
