TAYLORSVILLE — Unified police are looking for a couple of burglars who weren't afraid to show their face, and who apparently had no problem hitting the same business twice.
On Nov. 17, as office manager Kelsey Bowen headed into work at Boardwalk Property Management, 5937 S. Redwood Road, she discovered the door to her office had been busted open.
"(I) peeked in and noticed the safe was gone," Bowen said.
She took photos of her office which showed her drawer had been rummaged through and her papers thrown about.
Upon further inspection, Bowen realized the door to the basement was open and a light was on. That's where she found a broken window and the entrance for the burglars.
The thieves were long gone, but investigators say it won't be difficult to track them down thanks to surveillance cameras placed throughout the office building.
"When you watch the video, you can see their faces," said Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal. "Somebody should recognize who these individuals are."
The video shows two burglars who appear to be in their 30s. It's clear they were not strangers and that they had been there before. They knew to head upstairs and get into Bowen's office to find the money.
But it didn't end there. Two and a half weeks later, on Dec. 4, the thieves returned for more.
"It was about 5:30 in the morning, and our alarms went off," Bowen said.
This time the men came in through a back window on the main floor. There was no safe or money to be stolen, but they left with a computer monitor.
"It's terrifying," Bowen said. "I won't stay here alone anymore."
