PROVO, Utah (AP) — Tyler Haws scored 23 points as Brigham Young pulled away from North Texas in the second half to take a 97-67 victory Tuesday night.
Haws has now totaled 1,342 points at BYU (7-2). Kyle Collinsworth had a career-high 17 points and Skyler Halford had a career-high 16 points. Matt Carlino pulled down a career-high 10 rebounds. He also had 11 assists. BYU outrebounded North Texas 60-38
North Texas (5-4) jumped out to an early lead and held a 27-25 advantage at the 7:35 mark of the first period. Haws hit a 3-pointer to put BYU out front 28-27.
The Cougars gradually increased that lead until they were ahead 42-35 at the break.
