They were part of a global rally. But some local mechanics were the real stars.

Seeing a plane this big is impressive enough...

"It's not something you see everyday."

...but inside was enough to make men everywhere stop.

Ferrari's, Lamborghini's and other cars you learn as a teenager filled three Russian cargo planes.

It's all part of the Gumball 3000 rally, where the rich have the kind of fun most of us can only dream of. They travel 3,000 miles in Europe, Asia, and America.

The final leg of the journey began right here in Salt Lake City.

"I'd take any of those things. Speeding ticket? It'd be worth the money."

Yeah, but sometimes even super cars break down.

Dave Carrington "The clutch is gone."

Dave Carrington thought he was done after his Volkswagen bus, with a Porsche engine mind you, barely made it out of Bangkok.

He never thought he'd find a mechanic in Utah, until he called Les Long.

Les Long, Air Power Racing: "Oh, we know we can."

Long owns Air Power Racing. They picked up the bus and brought it to their garage.

Les Long, Air Power Racing: "We'll change the clutch in it, and put it back together and off we go."

They also picked up a Porsche with a coolant leak. Two exotic cars involved in a global rally... side-by-side... in an Ogden shop.

Meanwhile, the cars that didn't need fixing were putting on a show at Larry Miller's Speedway. But thanks to Long, the Porsche and Volkswagen would join them.

"Another happy customer!"

The rally is in Las Vegas tonight. They wrap up their trip later next week at the Playboy Mansion.
