(KSL News) It's the season for giving, and that's exactly what's happening at the Salt Lake City Mission.

Today was the annual Christmas feast for the homeless. Ham, green beans, potatoes and pumpkin pie were just a few of the items on the menu.

Volunteers and numerous donations have helped feed thousands of people at events like this during the last 15 years. There was also live music and donations of clothing and toys for homeless children.

"I used to be involved with drugs and alcohol and it took me down; and it was really a part of my life that it's just hard to believe where I'm at now and where I got to, and it's all because of the program here at the mission," explained Brad Jaques, assistant director of the Salt Lake City Mission.

Various organizations that help the homeless hope the generosity continues beyond Christmas. They still need donations of food, clothing and money.
