This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.

Did you know Finland has one of the top educational systems in the world? And get this — they created their system based upon research done right here in the United States! The U.S. has more research on educator effectiveness than any other country in the world. Often it's a matter of getting this information to the people who need it the most - the teachers!

That's exactly the focus for Chet Linton, CEO of School Improvement Network. This is a cause-driven company focused on creating solutions and innovations to help students be college and career ready. The most effective way they've found to do this is to create tools for teachers. If they can train teachers and provide the right tools, they'll be empowered to help students.

Chet says School Improvement Network uses technology to create these tools, everything from the Internet to iPads and other tablets. They searched the entire nation to find best educational practices and then went to 3,500 classrooms to film them. They now have 2,300 videos in their database, called PD360. This includes on-demand video content and materials from other internationally-recognized authors and educational experts.

PD360 is the largest teacher network in the country with over 900,000 subscribers. The School Improvement Network team is connecting teachers with materials and resources to help them bond with students, better manage their classroom and prepare to help each student be successful. Chet says their goal is to help every teacher be a favorite teacher.

Education has always been an important focus for the Linton family. Chet, his parents and his wife founded the company almost 22 years ago to level the playing field so everyone had the tools to be successful, both teachers and students. Chet has worked hard to take it to the next level and help all educators know exactly what School Improvement Network has to offer.
