LONDON — For many heading to England for the Olympics, a budget is part of the experience.
So how do you go without breaking the bank? Everen T. Brown has some tips for the well-planned and last-minute travelers alike.

- Budget accordingly for Olympic event tickets. According to Brown, the London games will be some of the most expensive. The most expensive opening ceremony ticket cost is equal to about $3,500 American dollars. Comparable tickets in the 2002 opening ceremony cost about $800. Track and Field events are popular in London, and Brown suggests looking on eBay for event tickets if a particular event is sold out.
- Use your ticket to get around. All Olympic event tickets come with a pass for the subway. Get your tickets first and then save on transportation.
- Bring food. Eating out will add up quick in this expensive country. Plan ahead and make a trip to the grocery store for some food to pack around. The London Olympic Committee will allow food inside venues and in the park.
- Check your tickets. If you buy a ticket to the Orbit sculpture and lookout, be sure you have another ticket that will get you inside the park, as that is not included in the Orbit's admission.
