Brooke Walker reportingA Salt Lake veteran got a big surprise this morning for his hard work volunteering to help other veterans.

John Estrada has raised thousands of dollars that have been sent to Marines recovering from injuries sustained in Iraq.

Dianne Warner-Kearney, who nominated Estrada, said, "John, you are absolutely passionate about Marines, the Corps, the Marine Corps League and the Marine Corps League Auxiliary. You go to extraordinary lengths to raise funds for Marines and their families."

For his hard work, John received tickets to the Billy Joel concert and free dinner at Golden Corral.
