VERNAL — Yet another fire has burned almost 300 acres in an area just 35 miles south of Vernal near where gas an oil pumping units are located.

The land consumed so far is mostly heavy timber and brush, but so far no cabins, homes or other structures are threatened. It is roughly 4 miles north of Big Park in Uintah County.

However, officials say that the fire is crowning and there is extreme fire activity. Five engines have been dispatches as well as a water tender and a reconnaissance aircraft.

More information will be posted as it becomes available.
