SALT LAKE CITY -- Downtown Salt Lake received a big dose of Irish luck this morning.
Thousands of Utahns - adults, kids, even dogs -- put on their green and white to celebrate their Irish side during the annual St. Patrick's Day parade.
The parade, held at the Gateway Mall, featured Irish dancers and bands, as well as families with an Irish surname. This parade, honoring Ireland's patron saint, St. Patrick, was "Bless the American Worker."
"The Parade theme honors the American working men and women, who by their labor have built this great nation," said the Hibernian Society of Utah in a press release. "They came from a variety of backgrounds: Irish, Italian, Greek, German, Chinese, Hispanic, and many more. They shared a common driving desire to succeed, and resolved their differences by their love of America."
The parade is held annually on the streets of the Gateway Mall.
