BLOOMINGTON, Washington County — Police arrested an Iowa man Thursday night after seizing 12 pounds of marijuana and 8 pounds of cocaine hidden in his car.
J. Jesus Udave, 24, of Des Moines, was asleep in a parked car near Bloomington when a St. George police officer approached the vehicle. While being questioned, Udave mixed up his stories about why he was sleeping in the car and where he was headed, police said.
Officers noticed modifications in the vehicle and searched it, finding illegal drugs in the seats.
Police say they believe Udave was attempting to transport drugs from California to the Midwest.
